Gratitude Circle is a lifestyle platform featuring a social media app and gratitude hotline. The platform is meant to amplify the best instincts in human nature. The app is available for download in App and Google Play stores. Gratitude Circle’s vision is to pursue a peaceful, inspired, and grateful world.

Najma Khorrami is the Founder of Gratitude Circle’s app and lifestyle platform. As a public health professional, she has worked for The Center for Global Health and Diplomacy. As an author, she has written two books: one for children and one for adults describing self-care strategies and reasons to be grateful. As a writer, she has contributed to Entrepreneur MagazinePsychology TodayThe Huffington Post, peer-reviewed journals, and more.

She completed her graduate degree at The George Washington University and Certificate in Global Health at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is expected to earn a certificate through Harvard Business School’s Entrepreneurship Essentials program.

Najma truly values the benefits of gratitude and believes it has the power to transform lives, especially those who have experienced hardship. Najma understands hardship through her Afghan parents’ stories and experiences. She is confident that gratitude can brighten people’s lives and help lead to a more peaceful world.

Advisory Board

Derek Yach, MBChB MPH

Derek Yach is a global public health leader with deep experience based on years of work for WHO, leading corporations including PepsiCo, investment funds, academia (as Professor of Global Health at Yale), and not-for-profit organizations such as the Rockefeller and Smoke Free Foundations. His focus in these diverse settings has been to lead initiatives with impact on chronic diseases and their risks, and on mental health. Looking forward, he believes that governments, industry and investors need to give far greater focus to the health of adults as the pandemic recedes if we are to build more resilient and productive populations. He has focused on ways to implement harm reduction strategies within the context of substance abuse, tobacco control and food and nutrition policy. He has degrees in medicine and public health.

Jamal Masumi

Jamal Masumi has over 30 years of experience in many facets of both for profit and non-profit organizations. Having served at various executive levels throughout his career, including as former Chief Executive and Chairman of Utiliquest LLC, he has a demonstrated track record of strategic management, financial results monitoring and resource development. With his past service on various boards, including The Common Ground Alliance and Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Masumi has years of experience in public speaking, conveying information, and producing visibility and public awareness. Mr. Masumi is adept at directing and implementing programs, events and activities in support of strategic initiatives and mission of organizations.

Homa K. Ahmadzia, MD/MPH

Homa K. Ahmadzia, MD/MPH is Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Global Health at George Washington University. She is a practicing Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialist and a physician scientist with funding from NIH, FDA and Gates Foundation. Dr. Ahmadzia completed her undergraduate, medical school education, and Masters of Public Health at The George Washington University. She then completed her residency at Yale University where she was awarded the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award in both her second and third year of residency and also served as Administrative Chief resident. She completed her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Duke University.

Abaas Khorrami

Abaas Khorrami is a Software Engineer for LedgerX, a cryptocurrency derivatives platform. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia. After spending four years in financial planning & analytics at MGM National Harbor, Abaas pivoted to a software engineer role for startup company LedgerX, which was acquired by FTX US in late 2021.

Natasha Payamps

Natasha Payamps serves as a Lead in the Care Management department for Humana Healthy Horizons Long Term Care Medicaid sector for the state of Florida. Her role in having a leadership-based skill set helps her to build warm relationships with peers and her technical skill set assists departmental production managing regulated workflow for members who reside in the Pensacola region ensuring overall business compliance.

As a current graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Health Administration in the Milken Institute of Public Health, her long-term goal upon entering George Washington University is to develop a broader understanding of healthcare organizations and learn how to overcome management challenges and present innovative solutions.

Natasha finds herself reading for knowledge and development, freelance designing with her brand The Silk Leaf, spending time with her loved ones, and going to the beach to watch the sunset.
